Our center, in collaboration with the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, has initiated a series of studies to enhance the international tourism competitiveness of destinations in Turkey. Within this framework, promotion and development strategies for the provinces are being prepared and discussed in meetings attended by the provincial tourism promotion and development boards, and tourism roadmaps are being determined for the provinces.

The project outputs include the preparation of a document titled “Provincial Tourism Promotion and Development Roadmap,” which outlines the targets set for destination tourism, primarily focusing on tourist numbers and tourism revenue, and the strategies to achieve these targets, along with a presentation on this document, and its delivery in a print-ready format.

The Tourism Promotion and Development Roadmap documents include a general analysis of destination tourism and recommendations for increasing tourist numbers and revenue. Furthermore, the document outlines fundamental policies and sub-targets demonstrating how to achieve the tourist number and revenue targets.

The project involves preparing a roadmap for policy development to achieve the country’s tourism targets for 2028. The roadmap has a unique value as it is a macro-planning plan that also includes the opinions and suggestions of the Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorates of the provinces. Furthermore, being the most comprehensive tourism roadmap ever created for the provinces enhances the project’s unique value. Within the scope of the project, tourism promotion and development roadmaps were created for 70 provinces.
