Sivas, one of the most deeply-rooted cities in Anatolia with its rich history, unique cultural heritage, natural assets, and diverse gastronomy, has taken a significant step toward attaining its well-deserved, prominent position in the tourism sector. The Sivas Tourism Master Plan and Tourism Development Action Plan, which will delineate the city’s future tourism vision, priority development areas, and strategic steps, were introduced to the public through a high-profile launch program. Implemented through the robust collaboration of the Sivas Special Provincial Administration, Sivas Municipality, Central Anatolia Development Agency, Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Sivas Union of Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, this major visionary project aims to significantly advance the city’s tourism potential on both national and international scales by addressing all of Sivas’s assets through a holistic and sustainable approach.
Following the opening addresses delivered by the provincial protocol and sectoral stakeholders at the heavily attended launch event, the Cappadocia University team, responsible for formulating the scientific and strategic framework of the project, presented their work. In the organization attended by Prof. Dr. Bilgehan Gülcan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil Burak Sakal, and Lecturer Dr. Avşin Ayhan representing our university, a comprehensive launch presentation was delivered by Prof. Dr. Bilgehan Gülcan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil Burak Sakal. By sharing destination development priorities, tourism product diversification areas, and immediately actionable items within this presentation—which is set to shape the future of tourism in Sivas—the city’s tourism-led development initiative was officially inaugurated.
