Chaired by Governor Mehmet Fatih Serdengeçti, the “Tourism Master Plan Preparatory Meeting” was convened with the broad participation of local administrations, institutional directors, and sector stakeholders, aiming to integrate Osmaniye’s deep-rooted historical heritage along with its geographical and economic advantages into tourism through a holistic perspective. During the meeting, where the city’s immense SWOT strengths including its strategic transportation axis, robust industrial and agricultural infrastructure, 26 castles, ancient cities, unique highlands, and cultural assets were deliberated, the imperative of establishing a rational and sustainable development model in alignment with global tourism trends was emphasized. While Prof. Dr. Bilgehan Gülcan provided significant academic and scientific contributions to this initial phase of the project conducted under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on behalf of our University’s Social and Strategic Studies Application and Research Center (SSÇM) via a comprehensive presentation, the resulting strategic roadmap aims to transform the province’s tourism potential into socio-economic welfare and employment.
