The “2026-2030 Tourism Master Plan Launch Program,” designed to determine Artvin’s tourism vision, strategic objectives, and development roadmap, was held with the extensive participation of the Governor of Artvin, Turan Ergün, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, Nadir Alparslan, provincial protocol, and sector stakeholders. Serving as a pioneering step in line with Turkey’s vision to expand tourism across all 81 provinces and extend it to a 12 month cycle, the program emphasized integrating the city’s unique natural heritage sites such as the Kafkasör Plateau, Şavşat and Borçka Karagöl, and the Macahel Valley along with its extreme sports potential, including canoeing in Yusufeli and rope jumping at the Deriner Dam, into the tourism sector through planned investments. Committing to significantly advance the province’s current accommodation infrastructure and visitor metrics through collective intelligence, this holistic master plan provides a robust future projection for Artvin to become an internationally competitive and sustainable destination in nature, highland, cultural, and adventure tourism.
