Coordinated by the Governorship and organized in collaboration with the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism and our University, the Gümüşhane Tourism Master Plan Workshop was held with the broad participation of public representatives, local authorities, and academic stakeholders, aiming to impart a sustainable, competitive, and holistic perspective to the future of regional tourism. In the program, where the strategic roadmap to revitalize the province’s high tourism potential was deliberated and the imperative of stakeholder cooperation was underscored, our university’s faculty members made a critical contribution by presenting contemporary trends and future projections through their scientific research. The workshop, which meticulously addressed strategic themes to enhance the city’s competitiveness—such as the preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, the enhancement of accommodation and travel infrastructure, rural tourism, ecotourism, gastronomy, and winter and adventure sports recreation—has successfully completed the initial phase of the ongoing master plan study. In light of the high-quality outputs obtained, the project next aims to transition into its subsequent implementation phases.
