ELEVATE Project Trainings for Women Entrepreneurs Begin in Hatay
Digital capacity-building trainings for women entrepreneurs, under the British Council-supported “ELEVATE” project, have begun in Hatay with the partnership of our university.
The ELEVATE project, implemented in collaboration with the University of Wolverhampton, Tech West Midlands (TechWM), Mustafa Kemal University, and CARE International, aims to support women entrepreneurs affected by the February 6, 2023 earthquakes in rebuilding, growing, and developing sustainable business models. The Turkish implementation of the project is coordinated by our University’s Social and Strategic Studies Application and Research Center (SSÇM).
The first phase of the training program, which began on Tuesday, October 7th with 20 women entrepreneurs, will last a total of 9 months. During this period, participants will receive training in a wide range of areas, from digital skills and e-commerce to social media management and marketing strategies. This will not only enhance their individual capacities but also foster regional solidarity and cooperation networks.
The ELEVATE project aims to encourage women’s active participation in Hatay’s economic and social restructuring process, while making long-term contributions to local development. Upon completion of the training, participants will increase their visibility on digital platforms, strengthen their capacity to implement innovative business ideas, and support the sustainability of a women-focused entrepreneurship ecosystem.
